Conflict Minerals
CBi-electric products are manufactured in South Africa and are very aware of the impact that large suppliers can have on developing nations who have valuable resources. We are therefore committed to responsible sourcing practices.
We have high expectations of our suppliers, who are regularly audited to ensure our products do not incorporate conflict minerals. These are minerals like gold, copper, tin, tantalum and tungsten sourced from entities that directly or indirectly finance conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo or adjoining countries.
Support of black-owned enterprises
South Africa’s policy of black economic empowerment (BEE later BBBEE) is not simply a moral initiative to redress the wrongs of the past. It is a pragmatic growth strategy that aims to realise the country’s full economic potential while helping to bring the black majority into the economic mainstream.
CBi is committed to socio-economic development. We give back to the community through Corporate Social Investment (CSI). Our preferential procurement strategy supports black-owneed businesses and entrepreneurial small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Skills transfer in developing nations
As the only local manufacturer of Circuit Breakers in South Africa, CBI-electric: low voltage is able to add value by empowering customers through the transfer of skills and information. Through various training and certification initiatives, CBi ensures that local labourers and engineers are able to get the most out of our products.
These initiatives are just one of the many ways that we fulfills our vision of becoming your sustainable partner in protection.
